Speak English Fluently Rule 5

Lesson # 5: Change Point Of View

In the previous lesson we learned the importance of repeat learning in Learning English. The rule no 5 is: Change Point of View Now, remember, in a previous lesson, I told you “do not study English grammar”. You may be wondering “  how do I learn the grammar, how do I use grammar correctly”.

And here is how to learn English grammar, without studying grammar rules. It may sound little tricky, but this is actually very simple, easy, powerful technique. Research shows that this technique is the best way to learn grammar.

The technique is called Point Of View Stories. So, these are small stories. However, they are very effective to help you learn grammar. Well, what we do is: we tell the same story but we change the point of view. we change the time for example. Or we change the grammar somehow in the story.

( Watch this video…)

Like this you listen to story number two, three, four. And you learn the grammar like a native speaker. Once you learn grammar in this way using these kind of stories it goes deep into the brain. It sets the grammar rules automatically and quickly on your mind.

Action steps

  • Take simple examples like these and try it out.
  • Take various stories from different sources and construct sentences using our formula!

You are welcome to post your questions and comments below :-)

Have a great day!

I am not a native espaker although I have been speaking English since 3 and I have a strange British accent that no one can figure out is fake. Anywho, my tip for non-native espakers.Listen to lots of radio, podcasts etc. EMULATE the way they speak. You may sound silly, but by emulating, your tone and pronunciation gets closer and closer to the real thing, and eventually you’ll get it.Music help a lot not hip hop, but with properly sung words. This has helped me learn Mandarain and Japanese. Read the lyrics as you go along and sing it by heart in the shower, in the car, etc.I know many people who cant speak in a certain language, but can sing in that language very well.More importantly, if you want to learn it, you have to want to speak it. BE BRAVE. You cant learn if you are meek. Don’t be afraid to be wrong, even native espakers go wrong sometimes. Unless you meet an @$$hole, no one would laugh at you for making a mistake when they know full well that you are not a native espaker. In conclusion:Listen, Emulate, Be brave, Speak. Repeat.
